How to Fix Space Marine 2 Error Codes CSF, N-2, N-10 and N-14

These codes all mean the same thing: the game reached our servers, and the session was refused. CSF usually appears at launch, and the N-series when you enter multiplayer. The cause is almost always on the route between you and the server rather than in your account, so the fixes are the same for all four.

Symptoms

  • CSF, N-2, N-10 or N-14 appears when you launch or enter multiplayer

  • The campaign works and only online modes fail

  • The code appears on some sessions and not others

  • It started after a game update, or after changing router or provider

  1. Turn crossplay off and try again. Open Settings → Gameplay and turn crossplay off, then restart the game and try to connect. If the code stops, the problem is in cross-platform matchmaking rather than on your end. Turn crossplay back on afterwards and tell us the result when you report — it narrows the investigation considerably.

  2. Change your DNS. Your provider's DNS resolves our servers slowly or incorrectly for a large share of players hitting these codes. Use Cloudflare or Google instead. Open Windows SettingsNetwork & Internet → your connection → Edit next to DNS server assignment → switch to Manual → turn on IPv4. Set the preferred DNS to 1.1.1.1 and the alternative to 1.0.0.1 for Cloudflare, or 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for Google. Save, then restart the game.

  3. Add the game folder to your antivirus and firewall exceptions. Security software silently blocks the game's connection, without showing you a prompt. Add both the installation folder and the game's executable to the exception list in Windows Defender and in any third-party antivirus software you run. In Windows Security: Virus & threat protectionManage settingsAdd or remove exclusionsAdd an exclusionFolder, then select your Space Marine 2 installation folder.

Still getting the code?

Send us a report and include which code you get, whether crossplay was on or off, your region and your internet provider. Those four answers are what we would otherwise write back to ask for.
