The intention of this guide is to briefly outline the basics of the Veti faction and provide a rough framework for new players on how to proceed through a match.

This is NOT a prescriptive strategy guide, and it does not deep dive into the details of every element and mechanic of the Veti faction.

The meta for this faction will evolve over time as players develop their own strategies, and this guide aims to help quickly jump-start new players into the fun theorycrafting for the Veti. We are excited to see what unique tactics and strategies players discover over the course of this test, and beyond!

Stage 1

1. Load/Garrison Enlightened into Caretaker (Starting utility aircraft)

  • Will happen automatically within a radius of the Caretaker, but it can be completed faster by manually using the Garrison command

2. Build Power Vaults (Power generation)

  • Start with 1 Power Vault, and build as needed.

3. Deploy Ascension Anchor (Buff structure) next to Resurrection Anchor (Veti Con Yard)

  • Use Caretaker to deploy an Ascension Anchor nearby to tether to the Resurrection Anchor and boost your early building production speed (one tether per structure)

4. Build Ziggurat (Infantry production)

  • Synthesize (Train) Ambassadors to capture nearby Neutral Structures

    • 2 Enlightened (Sacrificial Thrall) Spawn next to captured structures

    • Send new Enlightened to existing Ascension Anchors

  • Synthesize (Train) a small attack force, including:

    • Seekers (Swift AOE Scout)

    • Acolytes (Anti-Tank, Anti-Air)

5. Build 2-3 Refinement Altars (Resource generation)

  • Use Caretaker Facilitation Mode to generate Build Radius in nearby Tempest fields to build Altars

  • Upgrade these with Ascension Anchors to boost Credit generation

  • Prioritize sending Enlightened to the Anchors tethered to your Refinement Altars first to boost your early economy

Stage 2

6. Expand Production and Advance Tech. (Complete in preferred order)

  • Build War Assembly (Vehicle production)

    • Starting with this structure is a safe bet; it ensures you have an adequate starting defensive force

  • Build Veti Eye (Primary tech structure)

    • Provides Radar and reveals Stealth

  • Build Celestial Gate (Air unit production)

    • Allows for faster map control using Caretakers and Messengers early to scout and expand

7. Build a starting army

  • Use the War Assembly to Synthesize (Train):

    • Wardens (AOE Anti-Infantry)

    • Subjugators (Light Anti-Air, Anti-Vehicle)

  • Use the Celestial Gate to train:

    • Additional Caretakers (Utility Aircraft)

    • Messengers (Swift Predator Aircraft)

8. Early map expansion

  • Escort Caretakers to new Tempest fields to boost your economy

    • Use Facilitation Mode to build Refinement Altars on fields around the map

  • Build more Refinement Altars in Tempest fields using your Caretaker (5-7 are ideal for a stable early-game economy)

Stage 3

9. Expand your economy, Power generation, and Enlightened (Buff unit) production

  • Build more Power Vaults to support your production and base defenses

  • Build Corral (Enlightened Production & Tech Structure) to produce more Enlightened to buff your other units

10. Build and Tether more Ascension Anchors (Buff structure)

  • Increased Attack Damage and HP

    • Golden Cannon, Host Tower, Phantom Turret, Dominance Anchor

  • Increased Construction Speed increased

    • Resurrection Anchor, Ascended (Specialist) in Resurrection (Build) Mode

  • Increased Credit generation

    • Refinement Altar

  • Increased starting XP for produced units

    • Ziggurat, War Assembly, Celestial Gate

  • Increased Power generation

    • Power Vault

11. Garrison Enlightened to upgrade Anchors

  • Each Ascension Anchor upgrade stage will increase the number of tethers and the level of the buff it provides to each structure

  • The recommended priority order for upgrading these Anchors is:

    • Resurrection Anchor (Building production)

    • Refinement Altars (Credit generation)

    • Tech structures

    • Production structures

    • Defense Turrets and Power Vaults

12. Start researching Doctrines

  • Explore Doctrines when you have a stable economy (~5-7 Refinement Altars)

  • The order of these is up to the player and their preferred playstyle. As this is a guide to the basics, we won’t dive into these here. Experiment and see what works best for you.

Stage 4

13. Mid-game map expansion

  • Send Caretakers to build outposts

    • Use Facilitation Mode to build Production factories and Turrets in strategic locations around the map

    • Continue building more Refinement Altars around the map

  • Synthesize (Train) Dominance Arcs (Mobile Command Platform) to build more fortified outposts

    • Move to strategic locations and deploy into Dominance Anchors (Fortified Defense Platforms) that provide build radius and powerful onboard defense weapons

    • Alternatively, move and convert permanently to Resurrection Anchors (Veti Con Yard) for increased build radius and Enlightened production

14. Build Base defenses

  • Golden Cannon (Energy Beam Turret)

    • Damage type: Omni

    • Effective against Vehicles and Aircraft

    • Ignores armor/resistances

  • Host Tower (Biological Turret)

    • Damage type: Rocket

    • Effective against Vehicles, Structures, and Aircraft

  • Phantom Artillery (Artillery Turret)

    • Damage type: Explosive

    • Effective against Infantry and Structures

  • Concrete Walls

Stage 5

15. Synthesize (Train) High-tier units

  • Specialists

    • Aegis (Defensive Support Specialist)

    • Cultivator (AOE Tempest Charge Specialist)

    • Augur (Recon & Control Specialist)

    • Ascended (Construction Utility Specialist)

    • Shepherd (AOE Subjugation Specialist)

  • Vehicles

    • Phantom Artillery (Stealth Artillery Craft)

    • Gorgon (Heavy Assassin Mech)

    • War Ender (Apocalyptic War Machine)

  • Aircraft

    • Thunderhead (Heavy Aerial Transport)

    • Constellation (Aerial Siege Platform)

    • Vimana (Aerial Subjugation Fortress)

16. Use Support Powers (Player preference on unlock/use order)

  • Relocate

    • Relocate a target Veti structure to a new location within your build radius

  • Tempest Ward

    • Applies the Lifeblood buff to a target vehicle or structure.

    • The target unit's Resistances are raised to 100% (making it only vulnerable to Omni damage) and generates Tempest Charge

    • A vehicle affected by this power has its move speed reduced

  • Gravity Manipulators

    • Applies the Gravitationally Enhanced buff to all friendly air units in a radius, increasing their move speed and ammo restock rate.

  • Regrowth Protocols

    • Applies the Lazarus buff to friendly vehicles, restoring them to a % of their maximum health if they take lethal damage.

  • Tempest Storm

    • Unleashes a Tempest Storm that deals Omni damage to all targets within. The storm applies Tempest Charge to vehicles and Structural Overload to structures.

17. Build Sanctifier Portal (Veti Superweapon)

  • A dimensional gantry used to manifest the Sanctifier

  • Sanctifier

    • An unstable avatar of pure energy that immolates all ground-based life and matter around it before consuming itself

    • Consume: Consumes ground units (friendly or enemy) in the target area. Gains % of the consumed units’ health
