Ray Tracing causes crashes or broken shaders on compile
Some users are experiencing a ray tracing issue that causes crashes or broken shaders during compilation. Rest assured, we are working on a fix. Fo the time being, please try a temporary solution that seems to help some other users:
Step 1: Disable Hardware Ray Tracing
Go into Settings -> Video settings -> Make sure that Hardware Raytracing is off (if it is on, turn it off).
Step 2: Clear Shader Cache (if crashes persist)
right-click on the game in the library (list on the left) or click the settings icon, go to General, and for launch options type in -clearPSODriverCache (the - infront is important)
Once it launches (with the launch argument) it will recompile shaders. Afterwards remove the argument again (keeping it will force a full recompile every time you start the game).
Step 3: Disable Frame Generation (for stutters/freezes)
If there are persistent freezes and stutters try to turn off Frame Generation under Settings -> Video Settings. This seems to have helped quite a few people who had GPU crashes where the game either quit on its own or froze with sound still happening.
