Q: My game won't start, what should I do?
A (Meta):

  • Restart your VR headset.
  • Check the Battery Saver is off in Settings.
  • Check the update of Meta Horizon OS.
  • Check the update of the app.
  • Check proximity sensor and clean the headset
  • If it's not helpful for you, then reinstall the app.

A (Steam VR):

  1. Restart your VR game or headset.
  2. Verify game files integrity (Steam: Right-click game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity).
  3. Ensure your GPU drivers are updated.

Q: Why won’t the game update on Meta Quest?
A: You can update the game manually. Go to the game in your Quest library, click the three dots, and choose “Update.” Make sure there’s enough storage space.

Q: I have “Steam Link VR Error 451 Video not streaming”

  • A (Steam VR):
    Go to Settings → System → Display.
  • Select “Graphics” on Windows 11+ or “Graphic settings” on Windows 10.
  • Click “Change default graphics settings”.
  • Disable the setting for hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
  • Restart your PC.

Q: I hear no audio in the game.
A: Confirm your headset volume isn’t muted. If using external headphones, unplug and replug them. Check for other apps playing sound in the background. Check the Language and sound menu in Settings and turn the master volume up.

Q: My Steam game crashes shortly after launching without any error message.
A (Steam VR): This appears to be a problem with newer generation CPUs. To fix it complete the following steps:

Open "Control Panel" → System & Security" → ”System"

Press "Advanced system settings" → "Environmental Variables"

Create a new System Variable (Not user Variable)

Fill “Variable name box” with OPENSSL_ia32cap

Fill “Variable value box” with  ~0x20000000

Press OK and try launching the game. You don't need to restart your PC for the settings to take effect.

Q: Why is my controller tracking off during gameplay?
A: Poor lighting or reflective surfaces can interfere. Play in a well-lit space without mirrors. Make sure controllers stay within your headsets field of view. Clean your controllers sticks or sensors from dust. Recalibrate your guardian boundary if needed.

Q: I'm experiencing low frame rates or lag. How can I improve performance?
A (Meta):

  • Restart your VR headset.
  • Check the Battery Saver is off in Settings.
  • Check the update of Meta Horizon OS.
  • Check the update of the app.
  • Enable developer mode to unlock advanced performance settings
  • If it's not helpful for you, then reinstall the app.

A (Steam VR):

  • Lower graphics settings in the game options menu.
  • Close unnecessary background applications.
  • If you’re using Oculus Link or Air Link, ensure your Wi-Fi connection is strong and your PC meets recommended specs. Poor network or low-end PC hardware can cause lag
  • Ensure your graphics drivers are updated.
  • For PC, check if your system meets the minimum recommended specifications.

Q: How do I reset my in-game position or view?
A (Meta): Hold the Oculus button to recenter your view. You can also reset your boundary or redo room setup in Quest settings.
A (Steam): Enter the Steam menu, press the “recalibrate” button and follow the instructions on your screen. You can also recalibrate your boundaries in your device settings.
