Q: What is Crossplay?
A: Crossplay is a new feature that will allow PSN, Xbox Live, and PC players to play together.
Q: What changes should I expect when enabling Crossplay?
A: With the introduction of Update 1.17 Operation: Resurgence, enabling Crossplay will now affect your lobby size. Here’s what you need to know:
- Crossplay Enabled: All players will be matched into Crossplay lobbies, allowing for faster matchmaking across all platforms.*
- Crossplay Disabled: Steam and EGS players will be matched into 14vs14 lobbies, console and Microsoft Store players will be matched into 10v10 lobbies.
*Please note: By default, Crossplay is set to "On." to allow for faster matchmaking across all platforms; however, Steam & EGS players' matchmaking will still prioritize 14vs14 lobbies whenever available.
Q: How do I enable or disable Crossplay?
A: Starting with Update 1.17 Operation: Resurgence you will see a “Matchmaking settings” option in place of the “Region settings” option. By selecting it, you will have the following options to choose from:
- Your preferred input device from your connected devices (Mouse & Keyboard or Gamepad).
- An option to either enable or disable Crossplay.
- An option to match with players using different input devices.
- Your selected regions.
Q: How does Crossplay work?
A: Once you’ve filled in your matchmaking settings, you will be matched according to your chosen options.
- Preferred Input Device:
Mouse & Keyboard: You can play using M&K or a Gamepad, but you can only match up with other M&K players.
Gamepad: You can play using only Gamepad and you can only match up with other Gamepad players.
- Enable Crossplay:
Enabled: You can match with players across all platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Epic Games Store)
Disabled:
If you are on PC, you can only match with other PC players.
If you are on Console, you can only match with players on the same Console as yourself (Cross-Generation is still possible).
- Match with other input devices:
Enabled: M&K and Gamepad can match against each other.
Disabled: You will be matched according to your selected input device.
Q: How do I create or join a party?
Method 1: Using the existing overlays to invite or join players on the same platform as yourself.
Method 2: From the party menu, you will see an invite code. By sharing this code, any player who inputs it can join your party.
Note: When joining a party, you will be asked to switch your matchmaking settings to match those of the party leaders. The party leader decides the matchmaking parameters for everyone in the party.
Q: How do text and voice chat work?
Text chat: Available on Steam, Epic Games Store and Xbox consoles.
Voice chat: Available on all platforms.
Q: Can I transfer my account between different platforms?
A: Accounts, progress, save data, and DLCs are not transferable between different platforms.
